About Us
What's Crashouts all about?
We are average rock climbers with normal lives, commitments, and jobs. We like to make the most of our spare time, climbing abroad whenever we can, but we always find it a real pain to research climbing destinations and find suitable holiday properties near the crags.
There’s lots of great information out there but it's scattered across dozens of websites. On top of this, a lot of the most talked about areas are mega hard and only suitable for the Sharmas’ and Ondras’ of this world.
So we decided to start Crashouts.com – holidays for the adventurous. At Crashouts you are sure to find a perfect area for your next trip whether you are climbing with your girlfriend, crushing with your mates, or taking the whole family. We have kept everything clear and concise so you can get the relevant destination information from a single place - saving you from the endless Google searches.
Once you find somewhere you like we have some great places for you to stay. Unlike a regular holiday rental website we only advertise properties which are close to the crags (maximum 30 minutes drive) and ideal for a group of climbers.
For those of us with busy lives we realise a climbing holiday is something special. We want to go to a great location, at the right time of the year, climb all day and crash out in a comfortable property in the evenings. Our aim is to get you inspired and make the process of researching, planning, and booking as easy as possible.

I started climbing on family holidays to Scotland when I was 9 and had bagged a bunch of Munro’s by the time I was 18. I lost interest when I went to university, seduced by the bright lights of Manchester but started mountaineering again recently because my brother was going up Mt Blanc and I fancied a holiday. Ever since then I have been firmly engrossed in the world of mountaineering and rock climbing.
Stats:
Bouldering V4/5 | Sport Climbing 6c
Aspirations:
I have lots of long term aspirations most of which aren’t based in reality so I’ll keep mine to just this next year. Ideally I want to have at least 2 months worth of outdoor climbing/mountaineering, get my sport climbing into the 7’s, and be bouldering at a V6+ level.

I climbed my first mountain (Mt Cotopaxi) as a bet. Recovering from an unhealthy smoking habit the odds seemed stacked against me but I ended up surprising everyone, mostly myself, with a successful summit. Since then I’ve been hooked. I took up indoor rock climbing upon returning from my South American travels 3 years ago and my life hasn’t been the same since. I try to be on the road as much as possible, traveling from one climbing Mecca to the next, living passionately, chasing the dream.
